The other day Adam at Universal Hub picked up on a story from the Wellesley Townsman about an Asian woman running a brothel disguised as a massage parlor. The cops in that town found her after seeing an ad in the Boston Phoenix that said
Charming, nice young Asia girls, we are the No. 1 masseuses who give you the best massage. Body shampoo. Open 24 hours 7 days a week.
A woman was arrested there last Thursday and charged with prostitution. The Wellesley Police Department is a member of NORPAC, the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Task Force, as are the members of our thin blue line. In the Times on Friday (page 19) is a remarkably similar story. In that story the Police, working in conjunction with NORPAC, found a very similar ad on craigslist:
Pretty Japanese girls offer hot body rub and shampoo by appt. Near Dedham Square.
In both ads they make reference to being near major highways, and give the exit numbers. The Times reports that two women were arrested on Monday after offering to perform sex acts on an undercover cop for a fee. Where was this den of iniquity? None other than Jefferson at Dedham Station, the 40B complex on Rustcraft Road.
In both towns interpreters were used to communicate with the women, and in Wellesley, at least, the woman arrested claims to have been born in Malaysia. In Dedham, one of the two women admitted to being in this country illegally. From the Transcript you can see that both of Dedham prostitutes were from New York. The Wellesley woman "did not have any identification and provided an out-of-state address." What's more, she was bailed out by a New Yorker. I guess the Dedham massage parlor was established close to Dedham Square for a reason. While the earlier arrest took place in one of the "W towns", the house fee for the hot body rub or shampoo was $70 in both towns. Someone should teach these women that wealthier clients can afford to pay more.
From the same Transcript report you can see that a Dorchester woman was also arrested last week for the same crime at the Holiday Inn, presumably without the pretense of offering a full body shampoo. Again, from the same report, the police arrested Anthony Bell of 76 Oakland Street on Saturday and charged him with, among other things, failing to register as a sex offender. However, the Commonwealth's sex offender registry doesn't include anyone named Anthony Bell.
There is no mention of what, if anything, was siezed in the Dedham sting, but at least in Wellesley Adam notes
