| A few weeks ago Pink Princess showed us that we are always being watched, now this just confirms it.
The front page of the Globe had a story this morning announcing that Google's "acclaimed, criticized Street View" was going online in Boston this morning. While Adam at Universal Hub laments (or maybe is celebrating?) the fact that it doesn't include his street in Roslindale, it does include many of the major roads in Dedham.
The picture below, for instance, is the license plate of a limo outside St. Mary's Church on High Street. As you can see, you can zoom in close enough to make out the numbers and letters on it. I first thought this was for a wedding, but you can see the pall bearers standing to the right of the stairs, so this limo will probably be taking mourners to the cemetery.
Adam is also offering a $5 reward for the first person to find someone doing something incriminating or something particularly weird. I'll do him one better and will offer $10 to the person who can find someone doing something funny in Dedham. Before you go and look, I already checked, and there were no cops at Dunkin' Donuts and no one was walking in to the Amazing store on Rt 1.
I was also curious as to when the cameras were in town. I thought I saw one once, but I couldn't be sure that's what it was. On Google you can see that the trees had all been cut down around the Endicott Estate, and the sidewalks had been pulled out there. There were flowers in front of Petruziello Plaza, which were planted during the last weekend of September. The Community Theatre was playing "Into The Wild" and "Death At A Funeral" (both great movies, by the way), and I think those played in October. The marquee was also wishing someone named Sarah a happy birthday, so Sarah, if you are out there, will you let us know when the happy day was? |
